Advanced Diploma of Management

The Advanced Diploma of Management is a 52-week, full-time programme, offered in partnership with Martin College Australia. The programme is taught at the ILA Training Centre in Ho Chi Minh City. Students study a minimum of 20 hours per week delivered in the English language. Home study and examination preparation is additional.

THE PROGRAMME

THE PROGRAMME INFORMATION


The Advanced Diploma of Management is a full-time programme, offered in partnership with Martin College Australia. The programme is taught in English at the ILA Training Centre in Ho Chi Minh City. Students study an average of 20 hours per week for approximately one year. Home study and examination preparation requires additional time.

Upon completion of the programme students may:
Complete an undergraduate degree in a business associated field (in Australia or Singapore), taking advantage of the credit packages available.
Apply for executive positions in local or foreign companies or organisations.

Academic Management and Trainers
The Academic Manager of Martin College Programmes is Dennis Lawler.

Dennis brings to this programme several decades of practical management and training experience in Australia and Asia. He has occupied senior management positions, is a Director of his own company has been a consultant to many of the major companies operating in Vietnam.

All trainers are selected for their business experience and qualifications, in accordance with the requirements of Martin College, Australia.

Materials and Resources
Course materials and resources have been developed by Martin College Australia.

Each student receives a learning resource pack for each subject studied. This includes course materials such as readings, manuals and handouts.

Additional reference resources, computer and internet access (including access to an on-line library), are available in the Independent Learning Centre and may be used by students as required.

Certification and Recognition
Graduates of this programme receive the Australian National Qualifications BSB60407 Advanced Diploma of Management, BSB51107 Diploma of Management and BSB40207 Certificate IV in Business.

These internationally respected qualifications are all from the Business Services Training Package BSB07, and are delivered in accordance with the Australian Qualifications Training Framework, the Australian Government’s quality management system that applies to all vocational education and training colleges.

Access and Equity
ILA Vietnam strives to meet the needs of individuals, and the community as a whole through the integration of access and equity guidelines. These operational areas include enrolment, participation, learning and assessment strategies, training delivery, student support services, and elimination of harassment and victimisation.

Skills Recognition
If students can show that they can satisfy the requirements of a unit of competency from previous study, or work, or life experience they may be entitled to receive credit in that unit.

ILA recognises the AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by other Australian Registered Training Organisations.

Successful completion of the Advanced Diploma of Management will also be recognised by universities with whom Martin College, Australia and ILA Vietnam have agreements to transfer credits.

Schedule
Students study on a full-time basis, Monday to Friday with an average of 20 hours of instructor contact time per week, plus hours of home study and examination preparation

Study includes lectures, tutorials and resource-based learning.

FEES

Fee: 150,000,000 VND [Including tuition fee and course materials]

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

English level: Upper Intermediate (IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL: 500 / TOEFL iBT 61).

Academic: Completion of High School (GPA: 6+) or documented work experience for older students.

Other: All applicants are required to pass an interview with the Academic Manager.

EMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE FOR GRADUATES

ILA will provide employment assistance to all graduates who wish to stay in Vietnam and work upon completion of the programme.
TRANSFER OVERSEAS

Graduates of the Advanced Diploma of Management may choose to continue their studies at universities overseas. Provided they achieve the necessary grades and meet any additional selection criteria prescribed by a particular university, significant credit will be possible into specified undergraduate programmes.

The universities will usually expect applicants to have completed high school and to have an IELTS score of 6.0.

Students may need to study for only 1 to 2 years at university to complete their undergraduate degrees, depending on the universities and programmes selected.

On completion of their undergraduate degrees, students can apply to enter Masters programmes, which in some universities can be completed in one more year of study.

The Transfer Process
Students receive full support from the Overseas Study Centre at ILA to ensure a smooth transfer from Vietnam to overseas universities. We help arrange university applications, accommodation, visa applications, insurance, flights, etc.
