ILA Quality Standards for English Language Teaching

We are committed to providing our students with a world-class learning experience. The ILA Quality Standards cover all aspects of teaching, learning, administration, management, resources, equipment, and facilities. They are rigorously maintained, throughout our organisation through regular internal and external quality assessments conducted by our senior management team and leading, international, independent English language teaching consultants.

ILA QUALITY STANDARDS FOR ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING

We offer a broad range of English courses to children, teenagers and adults, at all levels of proficiency, from absolute beginner to advanced. Each course has been carefully designed to meet the learning needs of its students.

TEACHING QUALITY

Teachers and Teaching Methodology
ILA teachers are fully qualified and experienced native English speaking teaching professionals. They are aware of the needs of their students and are dedicated to helping each one achieve his/ her learning goals.

Our teachers adopt a communicative approach in their teaching. This means that classes are interactive and students are encouraged to express themselves with confidence and develop their listening, speaking and pronunciation skills.

Academic management team
Academic management team members all hold advanced level qualifications in English language teaching and bring extensive teaching and management experience, gained from around the world, to ILA Vietnam.

Teachers are regularly observed and mentored by members of the academic management team to ensure high quality standards are continually achieved.

PROGRAMMES


Curriculum
All ILA centres follow the same structured curriculum, appropriate to students’ ages and English abilities.

Learning and Teaching Materials

Students receive a complete set of the most appropriate and up-to-date learning materials. In addition, teachers incorporate a wide range of supplementary resource materials, video and multi-media into each course to provide students with extra practice in areas of need and to ensure lessons are interesting, effective and enjoyable!

All ILA centres include Teaching Support Centres, dedicated facilities for teachers, with an extensive range of learning and teaching resources.

Assessment
Each student undergoes placement testing prior to course commencement and is placed in an appropriate course for his/her age and English language ability.

Regular assessment takes place throughout all courses and students receive feedback on their progress throughout and upon completion of courses.

Course Certification
A Certificate of Achievement is issued to each student who successfully completes a course. Success criteria are specific to each age-group and each programme, but in general depend on students’ attendance, efforts and motivation in class, and their achievements in the assessments.

ILA uses a levelling system, which allows students to evaluate their progress and assess their suitability for sitting international examinations such as TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC or Cambridge ESOL.

FACILITIES


Training centres
ILA training centres are purpose built to the highest specifications.

Classrooms and Equipment
All classrooms, furniture, decoration and equipment is specifically designed and appropriate for the age-groups of the students and the programmes they are studying, providing engaging, comfortable and very safe learning environments.

Independent learning
Independent Learning Centres [ILCs] are located in all ILA centres. They provide students with access to an extensive range of self study resources. ILCs include; computer labs with internet access and multi-media learning programmes, listening stations, resource books, CDs, DVDs, magazines, newspapers, etc.

WELFARE, HEALTH AND SAFETY


We take all reasonable steps to ensure the welfare and safety of our students while they are on the premises. Children are especially well-supervised before, during and after class.

CUSTOMER SERVICE


All ILA training centres maintain high standards of professional conduct in all dealings with students, clients, staff and the general public. We maintain clear and documented processes for dealing with student issues and complaints.

INDEPENDENT QUALITY ASSESSMENT

To ensure our quality standards are met, we undergo comprehensive quality assessments, conducted by leading, international, independent English language teaching consultants.
